One recent highlight in Mersing was a visit from the Sultan and all the schools were around to
welcome him. I was lucky enough to meet him and chat for several minutes. He
was very interested in the Brighton project.

Last
week we helped organise and present an extended Phonics workshop at the PPD
with the majority of teachers being from non TELL2 schools. It was a huge
success with the skills of teaching phonics intermingling with fun activities
that can be used within the classroom.
Lauren
and I participated in a Training Weekend on Tioman Island. Topics under
discussion included HOTS, PAL and English Language proficiency. One day was set
aside to transfer the KPI5 data which was a huge job in itself. However an
enjoyable weekend was had even though extremely busy. - Linda
